Varicose Vein
Treatment

People with varicose or enlarged, sometimes ropelike veins of the legs can experience significant symptoms. These can include disfiguring enlarged leg veins that can detract from the appearance of the legs. Many patients have swelling and pain that can limit daily activities. Traditionally, varicose vein “stripping” was performed to remove these veins through incisions in the skin.

In the Interventional Department at Abington Memorial Hospital, we perform a modern, minimally invasive alternative to traditional vein stripping called Endovenous Varicose Vein Treatment combined with sclerotherapy to treat large varicose veins and smaller spider veins.

We treat patients on an outpatient basis. No overnight hospital stay is required.
