TitleChief, Interventional Radiology, Abington-Jefferson Health Diagnostic and interventional radiology is now involved in the diagnosis and treatment of almost all body systems. This diversity makes our practice essential to virtually every clinician and patient in our hospitals. Among all these opportunties for patient care, I find my greatest contributions are in our oncology practice. From a treatment perspective, I find the benefits of image guided thermal ablation and catheter directed chemoembolization/radioembolization particularly rewarding. Treatment of uterine fibroids and scrotal varicoceles by blocking their associated vasculature is also an area of interest. Patient quality of life is improved with these minimally invasive procedures that allow precise treatment with short recovery periods.
